Taking a break on one of Oregon’s themed covered bridges.

While most of our rides involve trails of one kind or another, it has also been a pleasure to ride less travelled back roads. The photo above was taken on one of those backroads in eastern Oregon. Having motorized trikes has made our rides all that more enjoyable, especially in dealing with hills.

Here, my wife Cindy, looks over the map of the Route of the Hiawatha in the Idaho Panhandle, a wonderful scenic ride involving multiple tunnels and spectacular trestles of a re-purposed railroad route.

A stop along the Route of the Hiawatha.

One of the many re-purposed trestles on the Route of the Hiawatha, which is included among The Official Rails-to-Trails Conservancy Guidebook, “Rail-Trail Hall of Fame”.
